How to watch England U21 vs Germany U21 for FREE: TV channel and live commentary as Young Lions eye Euro quarter-finals

England U21s are hoping to secure their place in the European Championship quarter-finals against Germany this evening, live on talkSPORT.

The Young Lions began their European title defence with a win, but they faltered against Slovenia on Sunday, drawing 0-0.

It allowed their final Group B opponents to leapfrog them and already book their place in the knockout stages of the competition. 

Germany have beaten both Slovenia and Czechia, putting them two points clear of Lee Carsley’s side heading into this game. 

However, England know that victory here will reclaim top spot, while a draw is also enough to secure progression to the quarters. 

Defeat though, could end up seeing the Young Lions eliminated should Slovenia win and turn around a goal difference deficit.

England U21 vs Germany U21: How to follow 

This U21 European Championship clash will take place on Wednesday, June 18.

Kick-off at Stadion Pod Zoborom in Nitra, Slovakia is set for 8pm UK time.

Group B rivals Slovenia take on Czech Republic at the MOL Arena in Dunajska Streda at the same time.

Fans in the UK can watch the game for FREE on Channel Four.

England U21 vs Germany U21: What has been said? 

Carsley is expecting a much better England performance against Germany this week. 

Speaking after the goalless draw with Slovenia, the U21s boss said: "It was a very tough game. 

“We definitely didn't underestimate Slovenia, who are a good, well-organised team.

"I definitely think we had enough chances to win, though, so the frustration is that we didn't take those opportunities.

"I expect us to be better against Germany. I think we'll need to freshen the team up.

"It's important to take into consideration their age and the amount they've played, so we'll make sure we utilise the squad."
