Keith Andrews is reportedly in 'advanced talks' to take over at Brentford, with the bookies placing him ahead of Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna as the favourite for the job.
Following Thomas Frank’s departure for Tottenham Hotspur, where he replaced Ange Postecoglou, it was reported that McKenna was on the Bees’ shortlist to replace him.
He’s still believed to be a contender, unlike Burnley’s Scott Parker, who was previously linked, but there’s a different frontrunner in the betting market.
That’s Andrews, who had a six-month load spell at Portman Road back in 2011, scoring nine goals in 20 games.

He retired in 2015, initially working as assistant manager to Mark Robinson at MK Dons before working under Stephen Kenny in the Republic of Ireland’s set-up.
He returned to English football in 2023, supporting Chris Wilder at Sheffield United before switching to Brentford last summer, where he became a set-piece coach.
The Bees boasted a strong record from set pieces in 2024/25, which has seen them receive significant praise from fans and pundits. Their kick-off routines received a lot of recognition in particular.
Kieran McKenna was initially the bookies' favourite, but his odds have plummeted (Image: Ross Halls) Yesterday, Sky Sports reported that Andrews was a ‘main candidate’ to replace Frank, although McKenna is still ‘admired’ by Brentford.
The Independent have gone a step further by claiming that Andrews is in ‘advanced talks’ to take over at the GTech Community Stadium, and that he is even ‘starting to search for coaches to fill out a staff to tackle the Premier League next season’.
BetVictor originally listed McKenna as their favourite, but he has dropped from 4/5 to 10/3, with Andrews rising to 1/5.
Sky Bet have McKenna’s odds as the same, but Andrews is now as low as 1/9. Bet365, on the other hand, have Andrews at 1/4, but McKenna listed is much higher than other sites, at 5/1.

Their Sports and Trading expert Steve Freeth said: “We started out with Kieran McKenna as our favourite but wanted to keep Keith Andrews fairly short as he was already in the building and the well-touted Justin Cochrane had departed with Thomas Frank.
"The money came for Andrews fairly quickly, shortening from 8/1 into 8/11 and we've now been forced to go even further with Andrews now trading at 1/4 after another lumpy wager.
"There is interest in McKenna, but this two-horse race is turning into a walkover."
