Birmingham City have been credited with an interest in bringing former striker Che Adams back to the club for their Championship adventure next season. Adams, who'll be 29 this summer, is currently performing in Italy with Serie A side Torino, having left Southampton following their promotion last season.

The forward spent three years at St Andrew's, scoring 38 goals including 22 in his final campaign under Garry Monk. He then left for Premier League Southampton, where he spent five years and, in his final campaign at St Mary's, helped them to promotion via the play-offs back to the Premier League with 15 goals.

Leicester born Adams, who cost Blues around £2m when they signed him from Sheffield United during the tenure of Gary Rowett, banked the club £15m when they sold him to the Saints three years later.

Now with Torino, Adams appears to have enjoyed himself on the continent this past season; he has scored 10 goals in all competitions having completed a free transfer, including a winner against Europa League holders Atalanta back in August.

There have been suggestions, though, that Blues and Knighthead are considering making an offer to the Serie A side for Adams this summer which would bring him back to England, and to Birmingham - and to the Championship, a division in which he has excelled previously - with the intention of spearheading the club's front-line.

Blues have confirmed that Lukas Jutkiewicz will retire at the end of this weekend's game at Cambridge United, the final game of the season, while Chris Davies currently also has Alfie May, Lyndon Dykes and top scorer Jay Stansfield as centre forward options - but Blues are expected to be busy in the transfer market as they look for upgrades throughout the squad.
