Former Ipswich Town duo Jeremy Sarmiento and Vaclav Hladky have been promoted to the Premier League with Burnley.

Scott Parker's side were officially promoted after beating Sheffield United 2-1 at home on Monday night, a result that clinched a top-two place in the Championship along with Leeds United.

The Clarets return to the top flight at the first time of asking as they broke a 104-year-old club record for their longest unbeaten run, a staggering 31 games.

Sarmiento and Hladky have now won back-to-back promotions to the promised land, having played key parts in Kieran McKenna's team last season.

The duo moved to Turf Moor last summer, with Hladky signing on a free transfer after failing to agree a new contract at Portman Road. He has made just one league appearance for the Lancashire club, with James Trafford being their first-choice keeper.

On the other hand, Sarmiento has notched two goals in 33 games since joining on a season-long loan from Brighton.

Burnley have two more games to play as they fight for the title with Leeds, with them both on 96 points.
