An updated five potential candidates for the Barnsley job

Barnsley remain in the hunt for a new manager to replace Daniel Stendel. Here is an updated five potential candidates for the Yorkshire side-

Adam Murray- The 38-year-old has been placed in caretaker charge at Oakwell and is one of the favourites for the full-time job. Since retiring from playing in 2015, Murray has managed Mansfield Town and Boston United as well as holding coaching roles with Guiseley and Burton Albion.

Steve Cherundolo- He worked as Stendel’s assistant at Hannover 96 and is being linked with replacing his former colleague. The former USA international has also coached at Stuttgart and with the American national team in the past.

Jan Siewert- The German boss was sacked by Huddersfield Town in August after just one win out of 19 matches. He has previously managed Borussia Dortmund’s B team and is in the running for a shift return to the dugout at Barnsley.

Neil Harris- He left his position as manager of fellow Championship side Millwall last week after four years at the helm at The Den. The 42-year-old would be ideal for the Tykes having managed the Lions at this level for the past two seasons. However, he may have reservations over returning to management so quickly so could bide his time before deciding his next career move.
