Football accumulator tips for this weekend [11-12 May 2024]

The penultimate round of Premier League fixtures will have big implications at both ends of the division.

We have focused on five of the matches taking place this weekend, picking out a betting tip for each of them.

A £10 wager on our three-leg acca would pay out £48.15, while the same stake on our five-leg version offers a potential return of £159.96.

Fulham vs Manchester City: Man City to score in both halves (4/6)

Manchester City have their fate in their own hands. Victories over Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United in their final three games will return the Premier League title to the Etihad Stadium.

It is hard to see City slipping up here. Fulham have a pretty good home record, but they have nothing to play for and will likely be outclassed by the defending champions.

Erling Haaland was back to his best last time out, scoring four goals against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

City have a formidable attack when everyone is fit and firing. Fulham, you feel, will struggle to keep that frontline quiet.

Manchester United vs Arsenal: Arsenal to win (4/9)

Manchester United plumbed new depths on Monday, when they were demolished 4-0 by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

United are limping over the finish line and an adverse result here would leave them in a tough position to qualify for Europe via the Premier League.

Even if Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez are passed fit to start for Erik ten Hag’s side, Arsenal should prove too strong.

Mikel Arteta’s men, who have the best attacking and defensive records in the division, have been fantastic since the turn of the year. It is vital that they keep the pressure on Manchester City at the top by continuing to win their matches.

Given how poorly they are playing, it is hard to see United stopping Arsenal in this one.

West Ham United vs Luton Town: Luton or draw (Evens)

West Ham United announced on Monday that David Moyes will not be their manager beyond this season.

That news removed the uncertainty and instantly made West Ham a tougher proposition for Luton Town this weekend.

Yet the Hammers are in poor form. They lost 5-0 to Chelsea last time out and are now unlikely to qualify for Europe.

For Luton, only a win will do. Three points adrift of Nottingham Forest with an inferior goal difference, a defeat here would in effect send them down.

We fancy Luton’s chances of staying alive for a little while longer, even though relegation now looks near-certain.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Burnley: Tottenham to win and both teams to score (8/15)

Tottenham are in danger of limping over the finish line. A 4-2 loss to Liverpool last weekend means they need a miracle to qualify for the Champions League ahead of Aston Villa.

Burnley also require divine intervention to survive in the Premier League having fallen four points adrift of safety with two games remaining.

Spurs have shipped an abundance of goals of late, conceding 13 goals in their last four outings.

That will give Burnley belief that they can find the back of the net in north London, but avoiding defeat will probably be beyond Vincent Kompany’s charges, who would be relegated with a loss.

Everton vs Sheffield United: Everton to win (4/9)

Everton will be looking to end their campaign on a high after securing survival, but they will struggle to beat Arsenal on the final weekend.

A win in their last home game would make up for that. The Toffees are chasing a fifth consecutive victory at Goodison Park, a famous old ground they are set to bid farewell to in the next couple of years.

Sheffield United have, quite frankly, not been good enough in any department this season. They set an unwanted record last weekend by becoming the first team in Premier League history to concede 100 goals.

This one looks quite straightforward - anything other than a home victory would come as a surprise.
