Sky Sports analysed it in their coverage soon after it was posted on X and Neville said: "It's like a mafia gang statement, honestly... what the hell are they playing at?"

He also called for Mark Clattenburg to resign form his role as referee analyst, a decision that was confirmed on Friday.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Sky Sports are said to have removed an article from their website that saw Neville seemingly turn back on his comments regarding Clattenburg.

Sources told the outlet that it was an 'editorial decision' and 'not related to any ongoing legal matter'.

However, the report says that the article's removal has come after Forest sent a legal letter to the broadcasting giants 'in response to their reaction to the events that unfolded'.

In it, Forest also criticised the fact that Luton Town fan Stuart Atwell was made the VAR for the match, with the two sides both relegation rivals.

PGMOL chief Howard Webb has since admitted that one of their penalty appeals should have resulted in a spot-kick.

Everton defender Ashley Young was involved in all three claims and smirked when he was asked about them in a post-match interview.

Forest's fight against relegation was given a huge boost on Friday night when Luton could only muster a 1-1 draw against the Toffees.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side then went three points clear of the Hatters the following day in their 3-1 victory over Sheffield United.

With just two games left to play, Forest's chance of survival is in their hands as they eye a third consecutive Premier League season.

However, they next face a tough test against Chelsea before they travel to fellow relegation battlers Burnley on the final day.
