West Ham 2-2 Liverpool LIVE REACTION: Reds held to draw to all but end title hopes as Salah and Klopp involved in heated argument

Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by West Ham on Saturday afternoon as they failed to bounce back from their title blow.

The Reds remain in third having played more games than their rivals at the top of the Premier League, meaning their hopes of silverware are all but over.

They went behind in the game late in the first half after Jarrod Bowen scored his 20th goal in all competitions this season.

However, after the break, Jurgen Klopp’s side instantly hit back through Andy Robertson and then an own goal turned things around.

Liverpool were in control after that goal but Michail Antonio would go on to equalise and claim a point for the Hammers.

Before that though, footage showed Klopp and Mohamed Salah in a big argument on the sidelines in a moment that will steal the headlines.

You can recap all the action in our live blog below...

  • West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

That's all for our live coverage of Liverpool's 2-2 draw with West Ham at the London Stadium!

The Reds dropped more points in the Premier League title race and their hopes of winning silverware seem to be over.

Jurgen Klopp will be devastated that his time at the club is ending with a collapse.

And there will be even more negative talk around Klopp now after he and Mohamed Salah were involved in a touchline spat.

You can read more about that below...

  • West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Klopp also discussed what he thought of his side's performance this afternoon.

"Very disappointed, obviously," he said. "I think everyone can see that only one team wins the game, and that is us with the chances we created, with the possession we had, with all the things we did.

"It was a tough one at the end of a four games in 10 days period, but I think the players did really well.

"We just conceded out of nothing and need a few more chances and kind of scrappy goals in the end to score twice.

"When we are 2-1 up we could control it, and still as I said in a lot of moments playing really well but the final situation we didn't take.

"That has been the story of the last four weeks."

  • West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Jurgen Klopp has been asked about his altercation with Mohamed Salah on the sidelines at the London Stadium.

He told TNT Sports: "No [I can't say what was said], but we spoke about it already in the dressing room. That's done."

Speaking about the title race, Klopp continued: "I'm not in the mood to talk about that to be honest or look at that at all.

"We had to win here, we knew that, and we didn't, and now we have a little bit more time between now and the next game.

"We try to get the boys ready again and we will go again."

  • West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Jarrod Bowen’s opener (his 16th league goal of 2023-24) saw him become the joint-top scorer in a single Premier League campaign for West Ham.

He has now equalled legend Paolo Di Canio’s haul of 16 in 1999-2000.

    What a season Bowen's having!

  • West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Liverpool have won just one of their last five Premier League games (D2 L2).

And they have only kept a single clean sheet in their last 14 matches in the competition.

It's all gone wrong for Jurgen Klopp.

  • West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Gakpo knows that Liverpool's title hopes are hanging by a threat after dropping more points.

"We're in a very, very difficult position," he admitted.

"If Arsenal win it is five points and Man City have some games in hard.

"It is going to be difficult, not impossible, but very very difficult."

  • West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Liverpool's Cody Gakpo has reacted to the 2-2 draw.

Gakpo told TNT Sports: "The result was not what we wanted. We came for three points.

"We played a good game, we controlled the first half and then conceded.

"It is tough to come back but we scored two goals and then we needed to stay more calm and keep the ball.

"We needed to play and not concede, but we did."

He continued: "The ball is not going in. That is a thing we've had to improve for a pretty long time now.

"If we knew why [it was happening] we'd solve the problem. I don't know."

  • West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Stuart Pearce has been speaking about the incident between Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp.

He told talkSPORT: “Whether Salah is thinking about the summer [and possible move away from Liverpool] or not, I don’t know.

"But when you set your standards as ludicrously high as Salah has, there’s no doubt about it you do get frustrated with your own form.

“I’m just watching a replay of the interaction now, Jurgen has said something to Salah and he’s reacting, and the more he reacts the more and more physical he is getting.

“Nunez and Gomez have had to be peacemakers, really, and hold him back.

“This sort of thing happens because of the frustration Salah will feel about his own form, and knowing the manager is not going to be here in a couple of weeks.”

  • West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

So after dropping more points, Liverpool's Premier League title hopes look to be over.

They remain in third place and behind their rivals having played more games than them both.

As for West Ham, they remain close to securing a place in Europe next season but will have to rely on other teams slipping up.

  • West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Wow, let's take a look at this Jurgen Klopp and Mo Salah argument.

As Salah was waiting to come on as a substitute, Klopp walked over to say something to him.

It seemed to rile the Egyptian up and he began to vent his frustration at his manager on the sidelines.

Gomez and Nunez then had to step in to prevent the heated discussion from boiling over.
